Trekking, hiking, shopping and relaxing: in summer, everyone loves Bormio.

Bormio, which has always been a favourite destination for snow lovers, is also magnificent in summer. There is not only skiing and snowboarding here: in the warmer months you can let yourself be surrounded by its unspoilt nature, enjoying the enchanting beauty of the Alpine landscapes.

Because, Bormio in summer, is exactly that: a corner of paradise where relaxation meets adventure, where you can unwind at the thermal baths, enjoy sublime food and wine experiences, and stroll through a historic centre that captures the essence of centuries of history.

Sports enthusiasts can treat themselves to hiking or mountain biking along well-marked trails, or enjoy summer skiing on the Stelvio Pass. But Bormio is not just about sport: quality shopping and visits to the renowned Valtellina wineries enrich the stay with unique experiences.

In summer, Bormio stands out for its generous hospitality. Summer days end on a delicious note, amid authentic flavours and a convivial atmosphere. The Magnifica Terra, as it is affectionately known, offers an irresistible combination of scenic beauty and lively summer activities.

So why come to Bormio in summer? To experience authentic emotions, to make extraordinary discoveries and to regenerate in the nature, amidst the charm of the Alpine panoramas and the friendliness of the inhabitants.

Bernina Express

The Bernina Red Train is one of the most spectacular attractions in Valtellina.

This railway line, which runs from Tirano to St. Moritz in Switzerland, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its beauty and historical value.

Why board the little train? To experience a journey full of emotions. The train departs from the 429 metres of Tirano and arrives at the high altitudes of Ospizio Bernina, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. You can choose to travel in modern, comfortable carriages, in panoramic carriages with large windows that cannot be opened or in cabrio carriages, which are fully open and can be used in the summer months. Along the route, there are numerous opportunities to stop for a walk or to admire the beauty of nature: the Glacier Garden, the Roseg Valley, the parallel Morteratsch Valley (which leads to the foot of the glacier of the same name). Everything seems designed to fill the eyes, and to capture the heart.

The Bernina Express ticket can be booked directly here.
